photo uploading marathon
so, photo uploading marathon is started... let's see if I make another record...
back in munich
so, well, my mac-clock says its friday, 12:17 ;-) maybe it's a little bit later... something around sunday... the trip was very good.
Cities i saw and which I didn't have been before (of some of them I didn't know before, that they existed):
1) Paris,
2) Lille,
3) Brussels,
4) Brugge,
5) Gent.
Well, Paris just very shortly, but I will certainly go there again... it's a must!
a small summary of the whole congress will follow, if there's time. so this blog will be just a photo blog later on, perhaps with some "comments" from me...
have a nice time! hope you enjoyed the icwes, if you were there!!

Gala Dinner
So, today evening there is a very precious gala dinner at Robeux, another city I didn't knew before. Now also I got my invitation, yabbadabbadoo!!
The Google Event was very nice, the noodles had too less salt but the Googlers were really cool. So, now I have another Google shirt ;-)
But I'm asking myself: where are my photos???

Second day ICWES
New day, new opportunities. Today there will be the Google meal (invitation only!) and also some very interesting lectures like: "From an idea to a patent" (Marianne von Rauch), who is accidential my room mate here :) - so yesterday we were in the Museum of Beaux Arts and had a very nice evening with dancing and desserts. What else do you need?

Google is inviting for a Code Programming Competition, where registration ends today! So be fast, if you wanna join!first lessons
sitting in the first lesson, which was very interesting, although it was from a non-ingenieur women ;) it was about why the changing roles in IT (f.e. as project manager) are perhaps more fitting on men, the recruiters who she interviewed are saying so... because you need:
1) long hours
2) visible accomondation
3) the family thing...
oh, and I have to complain, i think starting at 8:30 is much too early!!!

NPD
now some few photos are online, yahoo! soon you will see the first pictures i took while leaving munich... there was an interesting NPD booth at my train station "HARRAS", where they spread their propaganda. I took some photos of this dubious people, so that you know, who is in this organisation...

can't get any photos online, je suis desolèe. :-( think the port is not
open, because my flickr program is not working. i tried it also over
the web upload, didn't work too. so now i regret and wait for real
internet.
breakfast is okay, yesterday we saw great fireworks for the national day in france. today we will help with the preperation for the congress and pack some bags :)
and we will go shopping! YUHU! things i forgot:
* sunmilk
* hat
* powder
* dictionary french-german
certainly, france is the badest place to loose weight. the dinner and lunches are mostly french fries with some other things... but the meals and of course the desserts are great. creme brulee over all!

politeness-add-on
so, back online again. wifi hopping... so I have to blog this: I am the polite-add-on for germans, which seem to be grown up without any merci beaucoup, s´il vous plaît et cetera.

hotel wifi costs 4 euro per day, nice price. will think about getting it for the whole week, but first let's try it. seems to go pretty well...

summary
rumours told me: a squirrel put a hazelnut on the bridge over the rhein at cologne, so that a german ICE got off the tracks... so we decided to take a train earlier to get our corresponding TGV in Stuttgart to Paris.

In Paris we passed some fancy thai ? restaurant while changing the gares. I freshed up my whole french with the TGV menu card :D - very delicious things to buy there! Now I know how to pronouce the most famous beer around Lille: 1664 (seizecentsoixantquatre - spoken a bit like: says sawn swasoint katre)

the traveling was very nice. i didn't expect it to be so cool... perhaps it was because I had to get some sleep at 320km/h ;)

it's all marianne's fault. she made us walk unendless loops up and down the old city of Ghent (between Bruxelles and Bruges), churches, old cities. hot copplestones (not recommended for high heels!!), hot pancakes (i had a wafer with ice and cream.... yummy!!)
at some corners, it didn't smell nice, yucky :-P
she made us climb on the city tower Belford, where we had a beautiful sight on the whole city. after that we hang up at an old cafe with hollywood toilets: glass doors, which get milked after locking the door ;-)
photos will come as soon as possible... now we are very tired and need out dinner and have to sleep :)
Just Barbara keeps us alive by importing german food and bevarages like Obatzda, Würstl, Bread and Chocolate Biscuits. She carries a lot of things in her dark prodigious back pack. no wonder, it's provided by S-Bahn, the surviver-bahn! SANK YOU FOR TRAWWELING WIS DEUTSCHE BAHN!
By the way, I recommend for Germans and other people who hate German Bahn:

yuhu! first time wlan :D on the gare of ghent *lol* soon the train is coming, so i have to leave now... sun burn in the face, train arrives... i can recommend this city :)
